Student Account Activation

Once you receive your admission letter with your new student ID number, you will be able to activate your MyCoyote student account. For help activating your account, please visit How to Activate Your MyCoyote Account. Check Student Email

Your student email is the main source of communication at CSUSB. It is very important that you check your student email up to three times per day. If you need to send an email to anyone at CSUSB, please make sure you are using your assigned student email account and always to include your full name and student ID number.

Check Account for Holds

Holds on your account can prevent enrollment and even some services. It is very important that you check for holds often. You can see your holds in your Student Center which is located in your MyCoyote account.
Holds can be placed by all departments on campus. Please click on each hold to view a full description with instructions and contact information.

Sign Up for the Mandatory Orientation

The iCoyote 101 International Student Orientation is held for all newly admitted students (including English Language Program “ELP” students). This orientation is mandatory and must be completed to avoid having holds placed on your account. Prepare MMR and Vaccination Records

CSUSB requires all students to provide proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccinations, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccination. To learn more about immunizations or to learn how to submit proof of MMR documentation, please visit the Student Health Center website.
COVID-19 vaccinations are required by all students, faculty and staff. Please complete the Self-Certification form, located in the home page of your MyCoyote account,  to update your vaccination status and records. For more information about COVID-19, requirements, and vaccines, please visit the Return of the Pack website.

Prepare for Visa Interview and Travel

Schedule your visa interview as soon as possible to prevent any delays in your arrival to campus. CSUSB will offer visa preparation as well as a pre-arrival information session to help guide you as you prepare to travel.

Book Flight Tickets and Confirm Arrival

Once you receive your visa, you are ready to book your flight! Once booked, please share your itinerary and travel plans so we may prepare airport pickup and housing arrangements for you.

Purchase Mandatory Health Insurance

Health Insurance is mandatory for all students who are studying in the United States. Health Insurance can be purchased at www.4studenthealth.com/csusb
If you are not in the United States, please submit a Health Insurance Waiver through our online services requests here. You will need to submit proof of being outside of the US, such as your most recent flight itinerary or copy of your I-94.

The International Partnership Programs Student Advisor will enroll all Partnership Program students into their first term’s courses. Should you have any questions regarding your enrollment status or payment, please visit the students page to contact us.

Immigration Requirements

All students who are studying in the United States must enroll in 12 semester units or more each term to maintain their immigration status. If you have any questions about travel or your status, please contact the International Students and Scholars team at ISS@csusb.edu . For more information, please visit the CISP website.

University Services for Students

Office of Registrar

The Office of Registrar manages student records, course schedule and registration, transcript, transfer credits, graduation check, diploma service, etc. Please visit the website for more information and contact information: https://www.csusb.edu/registrar.

Student Financial Services

The Student Financial Service (SFS) manages student billing and other financial related services. If you have any questions about your bills, payments, and transactions on your student account, please contact SFS at sfs@csusb.edu, or check out the website: https://www.csusb.edu/student-financial-services.

IT Service

The Information Technology Service provides technical support and training to the campus community 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. It also helps campus members to access free software, such as VPN, Adobe, and MS Office. More information can be found at https://www.csusb.edu/its, or via email at support@csusb.edu.

Housing

CSUSB provides a variety of on-campus housing options.

Dining

There is a number of dining options on campus, ranging for the buffet-style cafeteria to coffee shops to grab-and-go convenient stores. Find out more about the dining services and meal plan options at https://www.csusb.edu/dining.

Student Health Service

The Student Health Services provides free/low-cost basic health service to the campus community. International students who are new to the campus need to provide the immunization documents to the Student Health Service. Writing Center

The Writing Center offers free one-on-one consultation service on your writing process. You can make an appointment to get additional help on papers, assignments, presentations, and other writing projects. Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center provides free academic tutoring service, so that you can get assistance on the challenge courses. Please visit the website to learn more and make an appointment https://www.csusb.edu/coyote-plus/tutoring

Counseling Service

The Counseling and Psychological Services at CSUSB provide professional counselling services to support mental health at a variety of levels. More details about the available resources and services can be found at https://www.csusb.edu/caps.

Library

John M. Pfau Library at CSUSB offers a wide variety of physical and virtual recourses and services for free or with minimum cost. Please see the Library website to find out more: https://csusb.edu/library

Gym

CSUSB Recreational Wellness Center is free for all students and features a number of training facilities, group exercise classes, an indoor climbing wall, several outdoor fields, and an outdoor pool. Also, adventure excursions are offered with minimum cost, which brings students to the break-taking outdoor experience in California.
