CSUSB’s CHEPD 1+2+1 Program

In partnership with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE), CSUSB is proud to offer the Sino-American Cooperation on Higher Education and Professional Development (CHEPD) 1+2+1 Program. This program offers Chinese students the opportunity to earn a CSUSB degree by completing two years of undergraduate studies at CSUSB and two years at their home university in China.

The CHEPD 1+2+1 program is an excellent example of Sino-American cooperation and international student mobility, well-recognized and fully supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Since its inception twenty years ago, over 7,000 Chinese students have successfully completed the CHEPD 1+2+1 program through partnerships among over 150 American and Chinese higher education institutions. At CSUSB, over 250 Chinese students have successfully completed the CHEPD 1+2+1 program.

Participants can choose from a broad range of CSUSB programs, including business administration, graphic design, and computer science. After successfully completing the first year of study at a Chinese partner university, a student can transfer to CSUSB for two years, then return to their home university in China for their final year. In that time, the student is expected to complete all CSUSB degree requirements. Joining the CHEPD 1+2+1 is an excellent opportunity for Chinese students to learn about the most recent trends in their area of study, broaden their understanding of American culture, and develop globally relevant competencies. This program equips students with skills necessary for success in a globally interconnected world.

The CCIEE website provides more information about the CHEPD 1+2+1 program, including a list of Chinese partner universities.
