Pension Reform – Public Employee Pension Reform Act (PEPRA) of 2012
The Public Employee Pension Reform Act (PEPRA) of 2012 was signed by the governor on September 12, 2012, effective January 1, 2013.
The California Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA), which took effect in January 2013, changes the way CalPERS retirement and health benefits are applied, and places compensation limits on members.
Please note: PEPRA of 2012, addresses all members belonging to Public Employee Pension Systems. The interpretation on the impact of the reform for CSU Employees may vary in comparison to other State / Public Employees.
