Eligible employees may be granted leave with pay for up to (5) five days of bereavement for each death of an immediate family member or a significantly close relative. Please refer to your Collective Bargaining Agreement for a detailed definition of immediate family member and significantly close relative.
- Employees may request to extend their bereavement leave by using accrued sick leave (subject to supervisory approval and the provisions of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement).
- Employees may be requested to provide verification of need for bereavement leave.
