How Do I Use Student Success Program?

This program is open to all students both with SSD and to the general campus alike. Registration with SSD is not required to access these services.

Success coaching can be accessed in person or on zoom, by appointment or drop in. There are many great ways to use this service.

Access to success coaching is FREE! While many other campuses may charge for access, we proudly come up with ways to make this service free and accessible to ALL!

Get to know me!

Hi! I'm a Student Success Coach at SSD. I hope I get the chance to help guide your college experience. I am currently studying Psychology as my major with a minor in Human Resources. My interests are anime/manga as I like to volunteer at conventions and read like no other. I enjoy cooking and baking, especially lasagna and cheesecake. I often find myself starting crafts whether it's decorating for a party or crocheting DIY is interesting. Plus I just started raising chickens and want to get back into gardening. I am also a CODA (Child of a deaf adult) and know sign language.

Danie Young

Get to know me!

Hello Yotes! I’m Danie, a Student Success Coach. Your unique needs matter, and so I’m here to help you figure out what strategies are right for you in your academic journey. If you simply need to vent for a little bit to take the edge off, I’m also here to listen as a peer emotional support! As a student myself, I experience occasional breakdowns trying to get through school.

My major is in Communications. I’m passionate about human connection; and finding how to lean into healthy vulnerability to ask for help and care, and to feel worthy of it. Support groups have been a big help in getting me back up when I’ve been knocked down, especially during loneliest parts of my life.

Hobbies include singing, board games and baking. Come schedule a session! Remember, "It's not about how many times you fall down, it's about how many times you get back up." -Jaime Escalante, East L.A. Educator
