An Online Change of Major form is required to declare or change a major/minor, to add a concentration/track/option/plan, or to change catalog years (quarter/semester). Students will be held to the major requirements for the catalog year in which the Online Change of Major is submitted. Dual concentrations within the same major will require approval from the Department Chair. Please allow up to two weeks for processing - an email notification will be sent once the change has been processed and the PAWS Report is available.
Undergraduate students may submit a Online Change of Major request through myCoyote Student Center. Please see the "Change of Major/Minor Guide" for instructions on how to submit an online request. In unique cases, it may be necessary to submit a Change of Major PDF form request to our office.
For incoming transfer students who submit a Change of Major with an ADT pending: Final official transcripts with ADT noted must be submitted by the document deadline. Please allow time after the deadline for processing.
Online Programs
For "state-side" regularly matriculated students to declare an online major, submit the Online Change of Major form.
For College of Extended and Global Education declared students (in a self-support plan), in order to move to a "state-side" major, they must re-apply to CSUSB for the following term.
Impacted Majors
- Nursing (applications are no longer accepted)
- Social Work
Changing to an impacted major requires additional approval through the Online Change of Major process. Because each impacted major requires different eligibility requirements, students must apply and meet with an advisor within the impacted major to determine eligibility. Review of the request is routed to the department chair and then the Office of the Registrar for processing.
