
Explore Your Path to a Ph.D. with Assistance from the California Pre-Doctoral Program
The California Pre-Doctoral Program provides active CSU students with both funding and faculty guidance as they explore doctoral education in their chosen field. Awards are based on a competitive review of student applications and given to current upper-division or graduate students who are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level.

*The Internal Campus Review is not required but is strongly recommended. Your application draft will be reviewed by a CSUSB faculty review committee. You can then review their suggestions, make any desired updates and submit by the application deadline.

The California Pre-Doctoral Program – Health Professions Scholar Initiative (HPSI)
This track support students who want to persue careers in health professions, including public health, health psychology, human development (with an emphasis on health), kinesiology, nursing, social work and speech/language/hearing sciences.
