In the age of AI, it has never been easier, or harder, to do quality scholarly research. Join us with the Pfau Library as we discuss how to use AI tools to find credible scholarly articles, and how to identify ones that are AI hallucinations.
Goal Setting and Time-Management for Writers

Writing can be a huge part of the graduate student experience, and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed or fall behind. Join us for a session to discuss setting tangible goals for your writing projects and managing your time effectively to achieve those goals. This workshop will directly precede the kick-off of our Spring Writing Accountability Group.
Spring Writing Accountability Group Kick-Off

The Office of Graduate Studies is connecting graduate students to a Writing Accountability Group to encourage progress on major writing projects, such as term papers, conference papers, theses, projects, and dissertations. The Writing Accountability Group will allow you to develop a support network and reach your writing and research goals as you work quietly with your fellow graduate students. This group has become a student-favorite on campus, so please join us for the first meeting of the semester.
What is a Literature Review

So your professor assigned you a Literature Review, but what exactly is it? In this hour workshop, we'll discuss what a typical Literature Review looks like, types of Literature Reviews, and provide helpful examples.
The Writing Process and AI

CSUSB has developed a guideline for using Artificial Intelligence in your graduate research and writing. Know the steps to take and the things to consider before using AI in your work. This presentation will review the university’s guidelines and instructions on how to cite AI-generated work in your paper, as well as ensuring AI tools used in your academic writing do not violate copyright or plagiarism policies.
Zotero: Citation Management for Graduate Students
April 16th, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: PL-2005 + Zoom
This workshop introduces graduate students to Zotero, a free and open source tool developed by scholars for scholars. Zotero supports you through the research process by helping you organize, annotate and cite your sources. In this session, you'll use Zotero to find, annotate and cite sources on your research topic. You'll also learn how to use Zotero Groups for collaborative research projects.
