At ITS, we are committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all areas of our operation. From recruitment and onboarding to management, retention, and staff development, we put people first @ ITS. Over the past ten years, we have worked to diversify our workforce and nurtured an environment where everyone is valued and appreciated for their contributions to advancing the academic mission of CSUSB. We include our staff in all of the decision-making processes. We are intentional in our efforts to establish a culture of inclusion and belonging in all of our activities, projects, and initiatives. We help advance CSUSB's DEI mission, in collaboration with the President’s DEI Board and constituents of our campus community. In the division of Information Technology Services, we promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through:
  • Recruitment
    • Ensure all search committees are diverse and inclusive in their characteristics and expertise
    • Advertise on job sites which target underrepresented candidates 
  • Management
    • Embrace and enact EDUCAUSE's "CIO Commitment on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion"
    • Participate in management learning communities in which OTS leaders study and discuss through leaders' scholarship and recommendations on creating a culture of belonging
  • Retention and Advancement
    • Continue our commitment to putting People First @ ITS!
      • Career pathways: Managers work with team members to create personal Professional Developemnt Plans and help them implement them through ongoing relevant opportunities for training, professional development, and career advancement
      • Internal and external communication: Deliver proactive communication to the division, the campus, and the greater region
      • Staff Involvement in Decision-Making: Empowering our team members through management's active listening and embrace of collaborative and tranformantive maangement style
      • Showcase staff expertise through presentations at professional conferences
