Introduction / Who Can Submit
Beginning September 2026, the Division of Human Resources will recognize an outstanding student employee who makes meaningful contributions to their department, colleagues, and the CSUSB community.
This new initiative celebrates the dedication, growth, and positive impact of our student employees while giving an opportunity to share their experiences and the value of student employment at CSUSB.
Each month, exceptional student employees within a pre-designated respective Division will be selected as the Student Employee of the Month.
The selected student will:
🏅 Receive a $25 Coyote Cash disbursement
🌟 Be featured in our “Why I Love Working for CSUSB” spotlight
🎤 Participate in a brief interview about their CSUSB student employment experience
đź“Ł Be featured through Employment Services communications, including the Employment Services webpage
Every student employee has a story worth celebrating, and this initiative gives us an opportunity to put those stories in the spotlight.
For the initial launch, student assistants serving in the following job classifications will be eligible for nomination: 1860, 1861, 1868, 1872
Advancing the CSUSB Strategic Plan
- Goal 1: Student Success, Objectives 1.2 and 1.3, through paid, transferable experiences, competency development, career preparation, and student reflection.
- Goal 3: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Objective 3.2, through intentional recognition and appreciation that strengthens students’ sense of belonging and connection to CSUSB.
As an administrator, staff, and/or faculty member, it’s your turn to help us shine a spotlight on an outstanding student employee!
