Public Health - Course and Curriculum Overview

Courses

The Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC) Program in Public Health (PH) is offered in a cohort system and is available in two instructional modalities: HyFlex and Fully Online. The program consists of four 4-semester-unit courses completed over two semesters (9 months). Students take two courses during the Fall semester and two courses during the Spring semester, progressing through the curriculum with a cohort of peers.

Students enrolled in the HyFlex modality have the flexibility to participate in courses either face-to-face on campus or online, allowing them to choose the format that best fits their schedule and learning preferences. This option combines the benefits of in-person interaction with the convenience of online participation.

Students enrolled in the Fully Online modality complete all coursework remotely through the university’s learning management system. Course materials, lectures, assignments, and learning activities are delivered online, enabling students to engage with the program from any location while meeting established course deadlines.

Both modalities provide the same curriculum, learning outcomes, and graduate-level academic rigor. The flexible delivery options are designed to support working professionals, domestic students, and international students seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in public health while balancing professional and personal commitments.
