F-1 Student (Degree Seeking)

Most students attending CSUSB are on F-1 visas.  The F-1 status  are for students  who are  pursuing a full-course of study in a bachelor’s or master program.

The F-1 status is a non-immigrant, full-time, student visa that allows foreign nationals to pursue education in the U.S. When an applicant is accepted into an academic program at CSUSB, the International Admissions office will issue a form I-20 which lists your program and biographical information.  For additional questions on receiving your initial I-20 from CSUSB, please contact international admissions at international@csusb.edu. Students will use the I-20 to apply for an F-1 visa at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate closest to their country of residence abroad.  Please contact the nearest U.S. Embassy/Consulate for instructions on how to apply for an F-1 visa.

Once your academic program begins as CSUSB the Center for International Studies and Programs (CISP) staff helps to maintain students immigration status.
