Are there any prerequisites for admission to the Post-Graduate Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management at CSUSB?

Yes, applicants must:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5 on the last degree completed or in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
Can I apply if my undergraduate degree isn't relevant to the certificate?

Yes, you can still apply even if your undergraduate degree isn’t in hospitality, tourism, or a directly related field. CSUSB’s Post-Graduate Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management does not require a specific undergraduate major.

What is the required GPA?

A minimum GPA of 2.5 on the last degree completed or in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.

Is there a GRE or GMAT requirement?

The program does not require GRE or GMAT scores for admission.

Can I apply if I have an international degree?

Degree Evaluation

  • Your international degree must be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
  • CSUSB may require a credential evaluation from a recognized service (like WES or ECE) to verify equivalency.

English Language Proficiency (if your degree wasn’t in English)

  • Acceptable tests include:
    • TOEFL iBT 79 / PBT 550

Is OPT provided in the program? 

Yes, international students enrolled in the Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC) in Hospitality and Tourism Management at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) are eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). Upon successful completion of the program, F-1 visa holders can apply for OPT, which grants them permission to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months in a role directly related to their field of study.
