Transferring Your F-1 Record
If you are moving to or from CSUSB, your F-1 SEVIS record may need to be transferred between schools.
The process depends on whether you are transferring into CSUSB from another U.S. school or out of CSUSB to attend another U.S. school.
Transfer Into CSUSB
If you are transferring to CSUSB from another U.S. school, follow the transfer instructions provided as part of your CSUSB admission and immigration-document process.
Your current school must release your F-1 SEVIS record to CSUSB. Follow the instructions you receive from CSUSB and work with your current school's international student office to complete its transfer-out process.
Do not begin classes at CSUSB until your SEVIS record has been transferred to CSUSB.
After your SEVIS record is transferred, complete any remaining CSUSB requirements provided to you for your transfer and immigration documents.
Transfer Out of CSUSB
If you are a current CSUSB F-1 student and plan to attend another U.S. school, request a transfer of your SEVIS record through the Coyote International Portal.
Follow the instructions in the request and provide the information and documents requested in the portal. You will also be asked to identify the date you want CSUSB to release your SEVIS record to your new school.
Once your SEVIS record is released, your new school will have responsibility for your F-1 SEVIS record. If your plans change, contact ISSS as soon as possible.
