VA Work-study

  • The VA work-study allowance is available to persons training on a full-time or ¾ time basis under the following programs:  Chapter 30, Chapter 33, Chapter 1606, Chapter 35,  and Chapter 31.

Certification Process

NEW STUDENT TO CSUSB

Step 2

  1. Get fully accepted to the program at CSUSB. 
  2. Apply for the VA Educational Benefit online: VA.gov
    • NOTE: For those using Chapter 31- Veteran Readiness and Employment VR&E. Please contact your counselor and request (2) PO authorizations for CSUSB & Follett (Coyote Bookstore).  
  3. Enroll into courses that are part of your Educational Plan (PAWS Report).
  4. Provide a copy of your DD214 Service 4 or Member 4.
  5. Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility form or prof of VA educational Benefit.
  6. Fill out and submit a Veteran Statement of Responsibility form (VSR). 
  7. Submit all documents via email to Jaime Espinoza, JESPINOZA@CSUSB.EDU. 

CONTINUING CSUSB STUDENT

Step 3

  1. Enroll into courses that are part of your Educational Plan (PAWS Report).
  2. Fill out and submit a Veteran Statement of Responsibility form (VSR).
