Over 60 Program

Since January 1, 1980, CSUSB, has offered a program which allows a limited number of California residents, sixty years of age or older, to enroll in regular session courses without payment of certain specified fees. The program is required to adhere to the following standards:

  • Enrollment shall be limited to persons who are California residents, as defined by the Education Code, are 60 years of age or older, and are eligible for admission to the university. All regular admission requirements must be met.
  • Persons enrolling in the program will be able to register using the MyCoyote online registration system. However, because students in this program pay a reduced fee, their registration time will be during the second day of Priority 5 registration. If a student applies to this program after priority registration has ended, they will then register during the open enrollment and/or the late registration periods, which require pre-payment of fees. However, the $25.00 late fee will be waived.

Presently, under this program, the student services fee may we waived.

See the following semseter fee schedule:
Service Fee
I.D $5.00
Health Facilities $2.00
Student Union $2.00
ASI $2.00
Total $11.00

NOTE: Does not include books, parking, lab/supply fees. Students wishing to park on campus must pay the semester or daily parking fee.

If you are interested in applying to the Over 60 Program and are not currently a student at CSUSB, you will first need to apply for admission to the university. Students may apply for admission through CSU Apply.  Questions regarding the application process should be addressed to the Office of Admissions and Student Recruitment at 909-537-5188 or you may visit the Admissions website. Once you have been admitted to the university, a Student Fee Waiver Request form must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office in UH-171 in order to enroll in the program and to adjust your semesters fees.

Students turning 60 years of age during a semester that is already in session will not be enrolled in this program until the beginning of the subsequent semester. For more information, please visit the Over 60 Program website

PLEASE NOTE: THE OVER 60 PROGRAM FEE WAIVER DOES NOT APPLY TO EXTENDED LEARNING COURSES OR OPEN UNIVERSITY.
