CSUSB's Veterans Success Center (VSC) opened its doors on May 25, 2012. It is a 1,200 square foot facility, which houses eight computer stations where student veterans and military members can work on assignments, and a group room for students to congregate between classes and hold study groups. The center offers dynamic programs that are comprehensive in scope and sensitive to the unique needs of service members, which includes: new student veterans' orientation; a monthly seminar series; weekly mental health support group; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) tutoring; SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society; veterans’ graduation celebration; complementary printing; free test taking materials; advocacy and referral services; refrigerator and microwave; complimentary arts and crafts; and a military veterans writers group.

The VSC has been in existence for almost 4 years, and it has built a strong reputation throughout the Inland Empire for offering innovative leadership opportunities and education programs. Recently, CSUSB was ranked No. 18 among four-year colleges by Military Times, "Best for Vets: Colleges 2017" and as the top public university in the state for services it offers to military personnel and veterans, according to Military Advanced Education's 2017 Guide and was named by G.I. Jobs magazine as a Military Friendly School, placing CSUSB in the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the nation working with veterans. The VSC’s knowledgeable staff is available to provide guidance and resources.

As part of the Division of Student Affairs, California State University, San Bernardino's VSC demonstrates the university's commitment to being one of the nation's top military friendly schools by providing high quality support services to military veterans, service members, dependents and stakeholders. Moreover, the VSC will become a center of excellence for the Inland Empire by offering leadership opportunities and innovative education programs to the target population.

The center's mission is to provide support services focused on the special needs and requirements of today's military veterans, service members, and dependents, assist their transition to the university environment, help them achieve academic success, and aid them in reaching their personal development goals.
