It is a 1,200 square foot facility, which houses eight computer stations where student veterans and military members can work on assignments, and a group room for students to congregate between classes and hold study groups. The center offers dynamic programs that are comprehensive in scope and sensitive to the unique needs of service members, which includes: new student veterans' orientation; a monthly seminar series; weekly mental health support group; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) tutoring; SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society; veterans’ graduation celebration; complementary printing; free test taking materials; advocacy and referral services; refrigerator and microwave; complimentary arts and crafts; and a military veterans writers group.

The VSC has been in existence for almost 4 years, and it has built a strong reputation throughout the Inland Empire for offering innovative leadership opportunities and education programs. Recently, CSUSB was ranked No. 18 among four-year colleges by Military Times, "Best for Vets: Colleges 2017" and as the top public university in the state for services it offers to military personnel and veterans, according to Military Advanced Education's 2017 Guide and was named by G.I.
