CAL VET FEE WAIVER INFORMATION
Apply for the benefit through the County VA-CAL VET FEE WAIVER
Step 1 |
Apply for the Cal Vet Fee waiver through your local Cal Vet Office. |

Step 2 |
Once you get approved, provide proof to CSUSB of the benefit. Usually, the County VA will send the student a copy of the award letter. Please email this letter to the vsc@csusb.edu. |
Step 3 |
Once CSUSB Receives the award letter, CSUSB SCO will verify that you are enrolled in a state funded program.

Step 4 |
SCO will send the award letter to the CSUSB Financial Aid Office and Student Financial Services Office for further processing.

Step 5 |
Pay for remaining balance if you do not have enough Financial Aid Awards. For any questions about this process please contact the CSUSB School Certifying Official. |

Student is responsible for all other fees.
CAL VET Fee waiver letter:
- The County VA will send CSUSB a copy of your award letter if found eligible, after you have applied. If we receive your award letter in the mail we will process it.
- Processing time can vary depending on the workload on SCO. Please submit and apply for benefit as soon as you can.
- You are responsible for tuition and fees. If your application with the county is pending, you are responsible for tuition when its due.
- The award letter is good for one academic year. Just note that you are responsible for university fees and other fees.
- You can not use the CAL VET fee waiver for any non-state supported programs.
