Defensive Driving Course

The CSU Vehicle Use Policy requires state employees (including student employees) to complete the Defensive Driver Training every 4-years in order to drive a state, rental, or privately owned vehicle, including electric carts, on state business. Parking and Transportation Services will in addition enroll the driver in the California Department of Motor Vehicle Employee Pull Notice Program (EPN) that provides the university access to the individual's driver’s license status.

Access to the "Defensive Driving Program - Driving Safely, Driving Smarter Training" is available to both Faculty and Staff, as well as CSUSB Affiliates (including volunteers, student employees, and auxiliary employees).

To access the training, please complete the Defensive Driving Request Form

Upon submission of the form, you will receive a confirmation email to acknowledge that your submission has been received.  Kindly allow 2-3 business days for an email containing instructions on how to access and complete the training.

Upon completion of the training, the following documents MUST be submitted to Parking and Transportation Services in order to obtain the Defensive Driving Card:

Submit ALL your paperwork to our office UH-039. Once all paperwork has been reviewed for accuracy and completion, the defensive driving card will be issued. The Defensive Driving Card is not to a substitute for a valid driver's license. For further questions, please call us at (909) 537-5912.
