Defensive Driving Course
The CSU Vehicle Use Policy requires state employees (including student employees) to complete Defensive Driver Training every 4-years in order to drive a state, rental, or privately owned vehicle, including electric carts, on state business. Parking and Transportation Services will in addition enroll the driver in the California Department of Motor Vehicle Employee Pull Notice Program (EPN) that provides the university access to the individual's drivers license status.
Access to the Defensive Driving training differs based on one’s classification as outlined below:
- Faculty and Staff: To access the “Defensive Driver Program – Driving Safely, Driving Smarter Training” please email your full name and coyote ID# to defensivedriving@csusb.edu. You will receive an email response with the instructions on how to access and complete the training. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.
- CSUSB Affiliates (Volunteers, Student and Auxiliary Employees): The Defensive Driver Training can be accessed here: Affiliate Defensive Driving Test. This 2.5-hour course does not allow the user to save their progress and hence has to be completed in one sitting. Ensure you print the certificate immediately after completing the course.
Upon completion of the training, the following documents will need to be submitted to Parking and Transportation Services:
- Certificate of Completion (with a passing score of 80% or greater). For state employees having difficulty printing your Certificate of Completion, please see the following guide: How to Print the Certification of Completion
-
CA Driver’s license (individuals with out of state licenses please contact Parking and Transportation for additional instructions)
