Fall 2026 New Resident Move-In
Our Fall 2026 new resident move-in day is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 21 and 22 by appointment between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Check your Housing Portal for room assignment. The first day of Fall term classes is Monday, August 24, 2026.
Please review all the details below to ensure a smooth move-in experience for all.
- All new residents must sign up for a move-in appointment. Appointment times are available on a first come, first served basis and must be selected at least 24 hours before your preferred appointment time. You will only be able to sign up for one (1) timeslot, but you may edit your appointment up to three (3) days before move-in begins on August 20, 2026. An email with complete move-in details and move-in appointment scheduling instructions will be sent to all residents by the end of July.
- For directions to your assigned Housing Village (Arrowhead Village, Coyote Village, University Village), please view campus map. Signs will be posted across the villages to direct you to your check-in area. Make sure you have your Coyote ID or photo ID with you to check-in!
- We encourage residents to bring their own moving carts or hand trucks to assist with the move-in process. A limited number of moving bins for unloading will be available by request for 20 minutes.
- Utilize the Packing List to help you decide on what to bring to campus; we encourage you to avoid over-packing and limit belongings to one car load. It is best to coordinate shared items with roommate/apartment-mates. Please note, PETS are not allowed in the housing villages! Please review the Resident Handbook for housing policies and procedures.
TRASH & RECYCLING
Roll off dumpsters will be available in the Villages to assist with your trash disposal. We ask that residents breakdown boxes and try to minimize their waste footprint as much as possible; please recycle! If possible, unbox items prior to arriving on campus.
Cleaning and Maintenance
DHRE maintenance and custodial staff operate in our Villages and respond to maintenance requests. Our custodial cleaning program uses an EPA-registered disinfectant to clean high-touch surfaces including hallways, elevators, doors, entrances, stairwells, etc.
Once residents occupy an apartment (Arrowhead Village or University Village), it is their responsibility to clean their individual bedroom and bathroom; cleaning of the shared kitchen and living room spaces are the responsibility of the assigned occupants. Residents of Coyote Village are responsible for cleaning their rooms; cleaning of community bathrooms and common areas is done by custodial staff. All residents should not share dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and other cooking or food service items.
We advise students to review the CDC guidelines for cleaning and recommended household disinfectants.
Residential Education and Staffing
DHRE staff, including Student Leaders, Faculty In Residence, and Area Coordinators for Residential Education are available in the Villages; they serve as resources, provide support, and help address questions or concerns.
Much of the residential education experience encourages in-person resident engagement and community building via programming, passive messaging, and 1:1 meetings. We encourage all residents to get involved with their Village and to make connections with others living on campus!
Meal Plans-Yotie Eats
Yotie Eats is CSUSB's on-campus dining service provider and can assist you with meal plans and options.
- Coyote Village residents are required to purchase a meal plan; visit Yotie Eats for available options and prices (Returning 2nd Year Coyote Village Residents are Eligible for Yotie 5 at discounted rate).
- Voluntary Meal Plans for Arrowhead Village and University Village residents are available for purchase.

Parking
CSUSB has transitioned to a virtual parking permit system using License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology. Semester permits may be purchased ONLINE ONLY. Parking permits are required at all times (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) in all spaces on campus including general, carpool, faculty/staff, service, disabled and residential spaces. Please note, there is NO GRACE PERIOD.
