Geology is more than the study of rocks — it’s the science of understanding our planet’s past, present and future. As a geology major at Cal State San Bernardino, you’ll explore Earth’s structure, composition, history and the powerful forces that shape it.

You’ll also get to choose the path that fits your goals:

  • Field and Applied Geology Concentration
Perfect if you’re planning a career as a professional geologist — whether at an environmental or geotechnical firm, a government agency, or in the oil or mining industries. It’s also a strong foundation if you plan to pursue graduate studies in geology.
  • General Geology Concentration
This more flexible path allows you to tailor your electives to your interests. It’s a great choice if you’re interested in science education, park services, public service or careers in environmental nonprofits or policy. It’s also ideal for students considering pre-environmental law.

At CSUSB, you won’t just study the Earth — you’ll be part of a community that helps protect it and understand it from the inside out.
