We understand that life happens and stepping away from college doesn’t mean your goals are out of reach. At CSUSB, we believe in second chances, fresh starts, and helping you achieve the future you imagined when you first started your journey.

Our Returning Student resources, friendly staff, and supportive campus community are all here to walk with you every step of the way. From admissions guidance, academic planning to wellness support and everything in between, we’ll help you feel confident, connected, and prepared to move forward.

Let’s finish what you started!  It’s time to get Back to the Pack!

Steps to Return to CSUSB

Step 1: Complete the Welcome Back Form (Preferred Option)

The Welcome Back Form is a simplified application designed to help streamline the process for returning students. Completing the Welcome Back Form eliminates the need to submit a full Cal State Apply application.

OR Submit a Cal State Apply Application

If you prefer, you can submit a new application through Cal State Apply instead of the Welcome Back Form. Be sure to choose the returning student option and submit your application before the deadline.

2b. Important Note for Students on Academic Notice

If you're returning to CSUSB and your GPA is below the required threshold, you’ll need to meet with an academic advisor to create a plan for success. This applies to both returning students and returning transfer students.

To get started, call the ASUA Academic Advising Office at (909) 537-7345 to schedule a virtual or in-person appointment. Once we receive confirmation that you’ve met with an advisor, you’ll be able to continue with the re-admission process.
****We’re here for you and want to ensure you have the guidance and support needed for a successful return!
