Why the Transfer Success Pathway Matters

The Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) was created through California’s Postsecondary Education Trailer Bill (AB 132) and recommendations from the Governor’s Council for Postsecondary Recovery with Equity report. Its goal is simple: to make transferring smoother, close equity gaps heightened by COVID-19 and other challenges, and ensure more students reach graduation.

TSP reflects the CSU’s strong commitment to helping community college students successfully continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree. At CSUSB, we’re proud to be part of this statewide effort to support your success.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Transfer Success Pathway agreements can I have?

You can only have one TSP agreement with a single California State University (CSU) campus and major. Multiple agreements with different campuses or majors aren’t allowed. This also helps you stay focused on your transfer goal and keeps the process simple.

Can I change my TSP agreement later?

Yes—but only during the enrollment period (Aug. 1–Oct. 31). If you want to switch to another CSU campus or program, you’ll need to request a release from your current agreement and allow time for the campus to review it. Once you’re released, you can submit a new agreement as long as it’s still within the enrollment window.

After Oct. 31, agreements cannot be changed, and you won’t be able to re-enroll in the Transfer Success Pathway for that year. Tip: Be sure of your choice before the deadline so you don’t lose your spot.

If I’m not eligible for TSP at one CSU, can I try another campus?

No. If you’re deemed ineligible for the Transfer Success Pathway at one CSU campus, you cannot enter into an agreement with any CSU campus.

However, you can still use the CSU Transfer Planner to explore programs, track your progress, and plan your path to transfer.
