Welcome Back, Coyote!

We understand that sometimes life takes you in a different direction and you may need to pause your college journey. No matter where you left off, CSUSB is here to help you return and move forward toward your degree. 

Update Contact information

If you are planning to return, update your contact information in your Student Portal to receive important and timely communication from CSUSB.

Returning Student Admission

This page is for former CSUSB undergraduate students who:

  • Were previously enrolled in a degree-seeking bachelor’s program
  • Completed at least one term
  • Have lost their continuing student status due to a break in enrollment or disqualification

You may NOT need to reapply:

  • If you left in good academic standing and filed a Leave of Absence (LOA) with Academic Advising
  • If you left in good academic standing and DID NOT file a Leave of Absence (LOA) please meet with Academic Advising to understand your options.
  • And your absence is 4 semesters (2 years) or less

Were you put on Academic Notice?

  • If it’s been one semester or less, don’t reapply. Instead, meet with an advisor for guidance and next steps.
  • If your absence is longer, you must complete the Welcome Back Form to reactivate your account and/or Schedule an Appt with the returning Student Specialist (see below).

 

Apply as a Returning Student

You have three options to get started — either one will put you on track to rejoin the Coyote family.

Option 1: Complete the "Welcome Back" form.

The Welcome Back Form is a quick, simplified way to re-enroll and return to your studies at CSUSB:

Option 2: If you are NOT able to submit a Welcome Back Form -  you can schedule an appointment with the Returning Student Admissions Specialist who will guide you through the process.

Option 3: Submit a Cal State Apply Application.

If you prefer, you can complete a new application through Cal State Apply instead of the Welcome Back Form. Just be sure to select the returning student option, and submit your application before the deadline.

Reinstatement After Academic Disqualification

If you were academically disqualified and want to return to CSUSB, start by reviewing the Retention, Academic Probation, and Disqualification policy.

Full details—including steps to request reinstatement and important deadlines—are available on the Academic Regulations and Standards page. Reinstatement is possible, and our team is here to guide you through the process.
