Summer Student Housing 2026

Summer 2026 Residential Student Housing 

The CSUSB Summer Student Housing Application for 2026 is currently not available and expected to open during the last week of March 2026.  Please feel free to check back periodically for updates. Below is updated information for Summer 2026.

Applications are submitted through the Housing Portal, which can be accessed using CSUSB Single Sign On credentials.  Summer housing assignments are made based on application submission date and space availability.  Storage is not available to residents departing campus during the Summer.

Summer 2026 assignments will be in Arrowhead Village Building 6 and University Village Building 8 only.  Room types will be limited by availability, primarily in 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom units.

*Residents continuing from Spring 2026 to Summer Full or Summer 1 will have a license agreement extension from May 17, 2026 – May 29, 2026.  The Spring to Summer transition will take place May 26 – May 29, 2026, where applicable. 

**Residents continuing from Summer Full or Summer 2 to Academic Year 2026-2027 will have a license agreement extension from August 14, 2026 – August 20, 2026.  The Summer to Academic Year 2026-2027 transition will take place by August 15, 2026, where applicable. 

Cancellation Deadlines:  Summer Full and Summer 1 - April 30, 2026; Summer 2 - June 8, 2026

Additional room types may not be available during the Summer terms.  Priority of limited room types will be given to residents continuing from Spring Semester 2026 and in to a 2026-2027 Academic Year license agreement.

Additional Fees

$100 Non-refundable Prepayment

A $100 non-refundable prepayment, applied to the Summer session balance, must be submitted through the Housing Portal after acknowledgement of the Student Housing License Agreement; the $100 prepayment is different from the first-time enrollment confirmation deposit and the 2026-2027 Academic Year on-campus housing prepayment.

Parking Permit

A Parking Permit purchased through Parking and Transportation Services is required for all vehicles parked in Housing and Residential Education designated areas. Parking permits are purchased directly from Parking and Transportation Services website.

Summer Student Housing Application Process

Summer Housing Eligibility

Students who apply for on-campus housing for Summer 2026 must meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Student enrolled in Summer 2026 classes;
  2. Current 2025-2026 housing resident, enrolled in Fall 2026 courses at CSUSB (summer enrollment not required);
  3. Fully admitted transfer students starting enrollment at CSUSB for Fall 2026 with an Academic Year 2026-2027 housing license agreement;
  4. Summer 2 applicants must have an Academic Year 2026-2027 housing license agreement.

All students must also be in good financial standing with CSUSB, including up-to-date on their CSUSB on-campus housing balance.

Access the Summer 2026 Housing Application

To apply for Summer Housing, log on to the Housing Portal using your Coyote ID/credentials.  Students must be assigned their Coyote ID number before applying, as the housing portal is connected to your student account.

Select your Session

To begin, you will need to select the Housing session you are applying for Summer Full, Summer 1, or Summer 2.

Complete the Application

You will need to complete the following information as part of the Housing Application process:

  • Emergency Contact Information - You will need to provide the name, telephone number, and email address of someone you designate as your emergency contact person.
  • FERPA Information Release Consent (optional) – You will be able to identify a person (parent, guardian, designee) to access your CSUSB Housing records.  Housing and Residential Education will not disclose any information from your records to individuals not identified in the FERPA release section.   • Roommate Compatibility – You will complete the Roommate Compatibility questions about room environment and social interactions; your answers will assist in matching with apartment-mate(s).
  • Gender Inclusive Housing (optional) – This section provides you the option to indicate if you are seeking Gender Inclusive Housing, and respond to the supplemental question provided.  Housing and Residential Education will not ask for any more information than is required to meet students’ housing needs and all information is confidential and protected by FERPA.

If you cannot complete your Housing Application in one session, you may return to it and continue where you left off. Do not delay in completing your application, priority is based on the date and time that you complete and submit the application. You will receive a confirmation email upon submission of your application sent to your CoyoteMail (csusb.edu email) account.

Housing Assignments

Check your CoyoteMail often; all assignment and scheduling information will be emailed.  Housing assignments are given priority by application submission date and space availability. Summer Housing offers will include a priority deadline to sign the License Agreement and confirm a space on campus for the summer.  Where eligible and possible, assignments will be made to align with current Spring 2026 assignment and/or 2026-2027 Academic Year assignment.

License Agreement

2026 License Agreement is currently not available. Complete the Summer 2025 Student Housing License Agreement (contract) by agreeing to the terms and conditions of the assignment.  The Housing License Agreement is available as the next page in the application once an assignment has been created by DHRE.  If you are under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must also agree to the terms and conditions through a Minor Guarantor Form.

Room Summary

Once you have completed all the steps, you will be able to review your Summer 2026 housing assignment information – your specific Village, room, and apartment-mate(s) – through your summer application on the Housing Portal.

Cancelling an Application or Reservation

You are able to cancel your in-progress Housing Application prior to submitting the Summer 2026 Student Housing License Agreement by taking no further action or by submitting a cancellation request. After submitting the Summer 2026 Student Housing License Agreement, you must submit a cancellation request.  The "Cancellation Request" can be found on the Housing Portal.  Summer Housing Fees will not be prorated for any reason.

Summer 2026 Housing Payment Information

All housing fees are paid through the student account. Students are responsible for monitoring their student account through myCoyote and ensuring that all payments are made by the due date.  Student Financial Services posts payments to any past due balances and unpaid tuition and fees prior to posting the payments for housing. 

Summer 2026 Housing charges will post to student accounts in May 2026.  Room assignments made after Monday, May 11, 2026 will post between 24-48 hours of the assignment email.

Financial aid is limited to 2026-2027 academic year award eligibility and availability; consult with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to see if you have any aid for Summer 2026.
