Undergraduate Summer Research Program Mini-Conference

Welcome to the 2026 USRP Mini-Conference & Networking Bowling Social

We are delighted to have you join us for this exciting event showcasing the remarkable research conducted by our undergraduate scholars over the summer. This mini-conference is a platform for students to present their findings, engage with peers and faculty, and gain valuable feedback on their work.

About the Conference

The Undergraduate Summer Research Program (USRP) Mini-Conference is an annual event that highlights the diverse and innovative research projects undertaken by our students. From environmental science to engineering, social sciences to humanities, our students' research spans a wide range of disciplines, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of our academic community.

What to Expect

  • Inspiring Presentations: Hear from undergraduate researchers as they present their projects and share their findings.
  • Engaging Sessions: Participate in sessions that cover various themes, including Environmental Quality, Public Health, Technological Innovations, and more.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow students, faculty, and industry professionals to discuss research interests and explore potential collaborations.

  • Conference: 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Conference Location: Watson College of Education, various room
  • Networking Bowling Social: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Coyote Lanes in SMSU N (Space is limited,1st Floor - Only open to CSUSB Students and Faculty)

Registration/Check-In

When arriving, please check in at the registration tables located in the Watson College of Education (1st floor). You will need your phone to scan the QR code and check-in. Conference presenters will be provided with a name badge and meal ticket upon check-in. This event is FREE to attend and open to the entire campus community. Networking Bowling Social

The networking bowling social will take place from 3pm-5pm in the Student Union North Coyote Lanes (1st floor). Bowling is free for students and space is limited. Off campus guest interested in attending please see fee rates and more information HERE

Parking

Parking permits are required seven days a week. Visitor parking and fee information can be found HERE

Conference Format

  • In-person oral presentation sessions. Each session will be organized by the college/discipline.
  • Presenters will give a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation followed by 5 minutes for Q&A from the audience.
  • Each student within a group is expected to participate in the presentation.
  • Students and faculty mentors are strongly encouraged to attend and stay for the duration of the conference.
  • A projector will be provided. Please bring your presentation on a USB drive or upload it to a cloud drive for easy access.
  • If you require a clicker, please be sure to bring one.

Dress Code

Conference presenters are encouraged to dress in business casual attire for their presentations. The Office of Student Research and Innovation (OSRI) promotes a conference atmosphere of professionalism and etiquette, as this is good practice for attending academic conferences in the future.

Presentation Schedule

The presentation schedule has been divided into session themes based on the researcher's topics. Each session is approximately 2 hours. Guests are asked to be courteous to speakers and not to disrupt presentations by entering or leaving during an ongoing talk. To view the live presentation schedule, please click the link below:
