Information Systems Class

With a B.A. in administration with a concentration in information systems and technology, you’ll be prepared for careers like systems analyst, IT consultant, cybersecurity specialist or data analyst.

Sample Courses

Management of Information Technology

This course focuses on how best practice organizations use information technology to gain competitive advantage and accomplish their mission. The course exposes students to numerous examples of IT applications in finance, accounting, marketing, public administration, human resource, entrepreneurship, and supply chain operations.

Cybersecurity

Study in information assurance and systems security for information systems professionals. This course covers several key domains of knowledge essential to becoming a cybersecurity professional. This course will include hands-on, applied technical labs.

Information Systems Planning and Policy

Advanced study of information systems planning and policy formation for top management. Policy issues surrounding project management, information classification, IT audit, and legal issues related to privacy and security will also be covered.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, Cal State San Bernardino’s AI Horizon project — led by Vincent Nestler, director of the Center for Cyber and AI — uses custom-built AI tools to forecast how artificial intelligence is transforming the workforce. The initiative helps cybersecurity students and faculty identify disappearing jobs, emerging careers, and essential skills so graduates can stay competitive in an AI-driven future.
