Coyotes Across Borders 

Program Description 

Coyotes Across Borders (CAB) offers students unparalleled opportunities for international research experiences alongside dedicated CSUSB professors. Our program is committed to fostering a generation of globally-minded scholars equipped with the skills and experiences necessary to tackle complex challenges in our interconnected world. In partnership with Professors Across Borders, CAB provides funding of up to $1000 for students to embark on overseas research projects, enriching their academic journeys and empowering them to make a difference on a global scale.

The key components of the program include: 

  • Global Research Opportunities: Coyotes Across Borders opens doors for students to engage in meaningful research projects on an international scale. The program encourages cross-cultural collaboration and exposes students to diverse perspectives, enhancing their academic and personal growth.
  • Faculty-Led Exploration: Students will have the privilege of traveling with experienced professors who are experts in their respective fields. These faculty members will guide and mentor students throughout their research endeavors, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Linked to Professors Across Borders: By partnering with Professors Across Borders, Coyotes Across Borders ensures seamless integration into a network of educators committed to global education. This collaboration allows for a comprehensive approach to international research, combining the expertise of both programs.
  • Financial Support: Understanding the financial constraints that students may face, Coyotes Across Borders provides funding to cover travel expenses, accommodation, and research-related costs. This support aims to make international research accessible to a diverse range of students.
  • Interdisciplinary Opportunities: The program welcomes students from various academic disciplines, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. This cross-disciplinary approach encourages students to explore research topics from different angles, contributing to a holistic understanding of global issues.

Eligibility 

To participate in the program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • CSUSB undergraduates, postbaccalaureate, graduate, and doctoral students.
  • Must be enrolled in the semester they apply.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Cross-Cultural Scholars Research Program

Program Description

The Cross-Cultural Scholars Research Program (CCSR) is an exciting initiative aimed at providing financial support to students eager to explore different cultures. We believe in promoting both academic and personal growth through study and research abroad experiences. Successful applicants of CCSR will receive up to $1500 to support their international academic endeavors, enabling them to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and gain invaluable insights.

The key components of the program include:

  • Financial Support: Successful applicants will receive a $1500 grant to offset expenses associated with study and research abroad programs. This financial support is intended to ease the financial burden and make cross-cultural experiences more accessible.
  • Global Learning Opportunities: The program encourages students to broaden their horizons by participating in study and research programs in diverse cultural settings. Whether it's conducting field research, immersing in a foreign language, or engaging in an academic exchange, participants will have the chance to expand their global perspective.
  • Academic Enrichment: Cross-cultural scholars will have the opportunity to enhance their academic journey by collaborating with international institutions, scholars, and experts. This program aims to facilitate meaningful academic experiences that contribute to the personal and professional development of the participants.
  • Cultural Immersion: Beyond the classroom, students will have the chance to immerse themselves in the local culture, fostering a deep understanding of the communities they engage with. This cultural immersion is a crucial component of the program, promoting tolerance, empathy, and a global mindset.

Eligibility

To participate in the program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • CSUSB undergraduates, postbaccalaureate, graduate, and doctoral students.
  • Must be enrolled in the semester they apply.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Acceptance into a study abroad program
  • Acceptance to present at an internationally held conference. 

Grant Obligations 

  1. Meeting of the Minds Participation: Participants will be encouraged to actively contribute to the academic community by participating in the Meeting of the Minds event and showcasing their research interests and experiences.
  2. Reflective Report: Once returning from the trip, students will prepare a reflective report on their experiences and what was learned. 

Application Process

  1. Interested students can submit their applications online using the application links below.
  2. Applications will be reviewed by the department for completion and sent to the OSR awards committee.
  3. Successful applicants will be notified and awarded. 
  4. Applications are accepted on the 10th of every month.
