A Foundation for Leadership in Public Health

This two-year, interdisciplinary program focuses on building advanced expertise in the science and practice of public health. Through a combination of classroom instruction, applied learning, and community engagement, students develop the capacity to:

Advanced Study in Health Promotion

Psychological, social, ecological, economic and political theories relevant to the mission and process of health promotion. Applying behavioral change techniques and health education methodology to health promotion targeting individuals and whole communities.

Health Education Program Planning and Evaluation

Comprehensive analyses and application of theories and methods for planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion programs.

Advanced Topics in Public Health Policy and Administration

The course emphasis the principles, practices, and skills essential to successful public health system with focus on the U.S. health care system, role of governmental agencies, and factors that shape public health system.

Internship in Public Health

Your internship will place you in a real-world public health setting, where you’ll work alongside experienced practitioners. This is your opportunity to:

  • Apply classroom learning to real community challenges
  • Gain valuable experience in areas like epidemiology, health education, or program evaluation
  • Build your professional network and résumé before graduation

Culminating Experience: Thesis or Project

As a capstone to your MPH journey, you’ll complete either:

  • A research-based thesis that explores a specific area of public health and contributes to the academic field
    or
  • A community-focused project that addresses a real need and delivers actionable solutions for a partner organization or population

Both options require high-quality written work and offer a chance to showcase your critical thinking, research, and communication skills.

Health Policy Conference Opportunity
