About Bioinformatics at CSUSB

Bioinformatics at Cal State San Bernardino brings together biology, chemistry, mathematics and computer science to help you solve real-world problems through data.

You’ll explore cutting-edge tools and techniques to interpret large-scale biological data — like sequencing entire genomes, analyzing DNA microarrays and processing tandem mass spectrometry results. From unlocking patterns in disease to fueling discoveries in biotechnology, your work will have real impact.

As a CSUSB bioinformatics major, you’ll study across multiple departments:

  • School of Computer Science and Engineering
  • Department of Biology
  • Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

This interdisciplinary approach means you’ll graduate with a well-rounded skill set that’s in high demand.
