Application & Admission Information
As part of the California State University System, applicants to CSUSB complete the system-wide Cal State Apply online application. All students, including graduating seniors from CSU San Bernardino, must apply online at Cal State Apply and pay the $70 non-refundable application processing fee by the program deadline. Because graduate education is highly specialized, each master's, doctorate, and credential program at CSUSB sets its own requirements that go beyond the university’s baseline admission standards. Before applying, we recommend you carefully review your prospective program’s admission processes, requirements, and deadlines found on the Degrees and Department Contacts page; please contact the graduate program coordinator listed there if you have any questions about their admission requirements.

The WRWCOE hosts prospective student information sessions for many of our programs. Attending an information session is the first step for prospective students. At the session, prospective students will receive an overview of the program, admission requirements, steps to apply, tuition cost, etc.
Credential Program Admissions provides assistance with the process of your application for admission to the Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Special Education credential programs. Admission into these programs is initiated with the submission of a complete Program Admissions File (P.A.F.).
The WRWCOE offers 12 different graduate programs. Each program has its own deadlines and admission requirements in addition to the general university admission requirements. You are encouraged to visit our program websites, explore each of our programs and become familiar with the requirements. Feel free to contact an admissions representative who can answer any questions you might have. Our goal is to help you navigate the admissions process and get admitted into the program of choice and graduate.

The Supervision Office coordinates supervision placements for candidates pursuing a credential in the Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Special Education Programs.
The Credential Processing staff supports the candidates of the James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education credential programs. We provide assistance to our credential candidates as they work on completing their credential and program requirements, and with the processing of the credential recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (C.T.C.).
Teacher Credential Programs
A Multiple Subject Teaching Credential creates a career opportunity to teach all students including English Language Learners in a self-contained classroom (grades K-12, generally grades K-6).
A Single Subjects Teaching Credential creates a career opportunity to teach a specific subject or subjects in most middle schools and high schools in the subject areas of Art, English, World Languages (French and Spanish), Sciences, and more. We also offer an Adapted Physical Education Added Authorization Credential.
The Education Specialist Credential programs offers programs in Mild to Moderate Support Needs (MMSN), Extensive Support Needs (ESN), and Early Childhood Special Education. The MMSN and ESN credential teachers to serve students with special needs in K-12.
The Designated Subjects Credential programs are designed for individuals with work experience in a business, technical, vocational, trade, or industrial specialty to students in a Regional Occupational Program (ROP). The Designated Subjects Credential available include Career and Technical Education, Supervision and Coordination, Adult Education, and Special Subjects.

Masters & Advanced Credential Programs
The WRWCOE offers several MA, MS, and EdS programs: Career Technical Education, MA; Counseling, MS; Educational Administration, MA; Education: Elementary & Secondary Concentrations, MA; Instructional Design & Technology MA; STEM Education, MA; Reading & Language Arts, MA; Rehabilitation Counseling, MA; School Psychology, EdS; Special Education, MA; and, TESOL MA.
The WRWCOE offers several Advanced & Specialist Credential Programs: Preliminary Administrative Services; School Counseling; School Psychology; and, Adapted Physical Education Added Authorization.
More Information on Advanced & Specialist Credential Programs
The Comprehensive Examination is administered online. Time: Approximately 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Pacific) Please register early to ensure you will be allowed to take the exam. To register, contact your program department office. Only eligible students will be permitted to take the exam. Eligibility includes: advancement to candidacy, completion of all program coursework or registration in final semester of coursework, no expired courses (older than 7 years) without a waiver, and a graduation requirement check on file with the Records Registration & Evaluations Office.
Educational Leadership, Ed.D.
The Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership is a program framed around questions of equity, ethics, and social justice to bring about solutions to complex problems of practice. The program is designed to prepare educational leaders with the knowledge base and skills to lead reform efforts that result in improved student outcomes and educational transformation, particularly for our Inland Empire region.
