Program Overview
Under the umbrella os Multilingual Education, we have grouped the initiatives that the Watson College of Education offer to train present and future bilingual Educators. Explore comprehensive educational opportunities aimed at preparing educators for success in multilingual and multicultural environments. Our programs include pathways such as the Spanish Bilingual Authorization for Multiople and Sigle Subjects candidates and current holders, and the Asian Languages (BTEP) for such candidates in other languages, providing essential training for effective teaching in bilingual and dual-immersion classrooms.
Mission and Vision
Our vision is to equip educators with the quality knowledge, skills, and cultural competence necessary to excel in diverse, multilingual educational settings. We envision creating inclusive learning environments where linguistic diversity is celebrated and leveraged to enhance student learning and engagement.
The Bilingual Teacher Education Program (BTEP) prepares educators specializing in Asian languages. Participants will develop advanced linguistic skills and culturally responsive teaching strategies tailored to multilingual classrooms. Dr. Yewon Sung.
