Opportunities for Students
At CSUSB, you’ll study and create in the Visual Arts building, a dynamic space fully dedicated to the study and making of art and design. Inside, you’ll find:
- Dedicated painting and drawing studios
- Computer labs for graphic design, web design, UX/UI design, and illustration
- Labs and darkrooms for traditional and digital photography
- Two fully equipped photography lighting studios
- Printmaking, ceramics, glass-making, and sculpture studios
- Welding rooms, a foundry and forge, and two wood workshops
- A metal shop with digital fabrication machinery
- Multiple specialized classrooms for art and design
You’ll also have access to the Visual Resource Center (VRC), which supports your creative research with access to books, journals, image databases, and digital resources.
Real-World Teaching & Career Opportunities
M.F.A. students can apply for internships, paid student assistantships, and teaching assistant positions—including opportunities to teach undergraduate lower-division studio classes. These roles offer both professional experience and financial support as you advance your career in the arts.
