About Social Sciences and Globalization at CSUSB

At Cal State San Bernardino, the master of arts in social sciences and globalization explores how growing global interconnectedness shapes cultures, societies and economies. This interdisciplinary program helps you understand global processes and their domestic and international impacts through the lens of the social sciences.

Coursework spans anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science and sociology, supported by an interdisciplinary colloquium series that fosters dialogue and collaboration.

You’ll choose from three areas of focus to align your studies with your career goals:

Opportunities for Students

Graduate students are encouraged to join student organizations, study abroad and participate in professional associations to expand their global perspective and professional network.

While not required, students are strongly advised to develop proficiency in a second language to enhance research and career opportunities. Faculty advisors can help you identify which language best supports your academic and professional goals.

Students may also explore internships and professional training programs that connect classroom learning with real-world experience.
