About Intelligence and Crime Analysis at CSUSB
CSUSB’s Intelligence & Crime Analysis B.S. program is an interdisciplinary, professional degree designed to prepare students for high-demand roles in criminal intelligence, investigative support, and data-driven crime prevention.
The program integrates coursework from Criminal Justice, Geography & Environmental Studies, and Information & Decision Sciences, giving students a powerful foundation in crime analytics, geographic information systems (GIS), cybersecurity, and homeland security.
Students learn to define crime problems, identify contributing factors, analyze complex data, and communicate findings to practitioners, agencies, and the public.
With hands-on labs, real-world projects, and required internship experience, graduates are ready to enter the field with strong technical proficiency and analytical expertise.

Sample Courses
Introduction to the Criminal Justice System
Criminal justice standards and goals and the relationship of the social and behavioral sciences to criminal justice will be emphasized.
Crime Prevention
You’ll learn how to analyze criminal acts, focusing on patterns and how these acts can be prevented. This course covers topics such as problem-oriented policing, situational crime prevention, crime analysis, environmental criminology, crime risks, and crime prevention through environmental design.
Criminal Law
Historical development of criminal law and its contemporary application. Focus on the interrelationship between criminal law and the criminal justice system.
