CSUSB’s Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership is a rigorous, research-based program grounded in equity, ethics and social justice. Designed for experienced educators, this three-year, cohort-based degree empowers you to lead transformative change in schools, districts, colleges, and communities.

Whether your goal is to improve student outcomes, influence policy, or champion access and inclusion, the Ed.D. program provides the knowledge and tools to address real-world challenges and drive lasting impact.

Professor

Designed for working professionals, the program features a flexible weekend format:

  • Fridays | 5:00–9:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays | 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Courses meet every other weekend in fall and spring, and every weekend in summer.

You’ll also:

  • Choose a track: PreK–12 Leadership or Community College/Higher Education
  • Identify a problem of practice for your dissertation that directly relates to your work
  • Learn alongside a supportive, driven cohort of fellow educators

Educational Leadership and Ethics

The leadership focus includes organizational, change, transformational, and culturally responsive educational leadership.

Culture, Equity, and Communication in Diverse Society

Focuses on theories and models for ethical decision-making, communication of policies to promote equity in schools and other educational institutions, legal and cultural context for social justice, equity analysis, school climate, and school reform to support the diverse needs of all stakeholders.

Organizational Management and Human Resources

Legal and ethical procedures in human resources at all levels of employment to ensure effectiveness of organizational processes to meet organizational goals and equity for students.
