About Digital Filmmaking (Minor Only) at CSUSB
The Digital Filmmaking minor at Cal State San Bernardino immerses students in the art and craft of cinematic storytelling.
Through hands-on coursework in film production, screenwriting, editing, cinematography, and media analysis, students learn how to bring stories to life using digital tools and creative techniques. The program blends theory and practice, helping students understand both the technical foundations of filmmaking and the cultural impact of visual media.
Open to students of all majors, this minor strengthens skills in communication, creativity, collaboration, and visual literacy—making it a powerful complement to programs in communication studies, theatre, English, marketing, art, and emerging media fields.
Students gain experience with professional production equipment and editing software, engage in creative projects, and work alongside peers to develop short films, documentaries, promotional videos, and experimental media pieces.
