Visual Resources  Assistant

Visual Resources Assistants perform a variety of tasks in support of teaching and research, including digitizing and creating descriptive for images in the database. Job duties also include assisting patrons using the public scanning stations. Other duties may be specified by the supervisor. Training is provided.

Successful applicants will demonstrate in their letters of interest, resumes, and interviews that they possess the most important qualities required of this job:

  • Experience with art or art history courses;
  • Capacity and willingness to pay very close attention to detail;
  • Proactive customer service skills;
  • Ability to work independently.

Student employees must have work-study awards through Financial Aid to apply to the following positions.

Library Assistant

The VRC's  (Visual Resource Center)  student assistant will helps our patrons navigate library resources located on-site, in other libraries, and online. Contributes to a user-friendly environment by promoting the center and accuracy of physical materials. Works on new projects as assigned, discovers and resolves issues in the book and media library, and assists patrons in finding library visual resources. 

Photographer and Media Assistant

The VRC's (Visual Resource Center) photographer will assist in creation of promotional material for our website, and social media. Creating, editing, exporting and customizing images, photographing Material samples for our online library. Good understanding of file management on Mac computers and video cameras.
