About Health Science at CSUSB
The Bachelor of Science in Health Science at CSUSB offers a flexible and student-centered pathway for those interested in health-related careers or graduate study. The program builds a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, statistics, and health science, while allowing students to tailor coursework to their academic and professional goals. Designed to support students exploring healthcare pathways — including those preparing for nursing, physician assistant, or other allied health programs — the degree emphasizes applied learning and timely progress to graduation. This program prepares students for entry-level health careers or continued study in a wide range of healthcare and health science fields.
Students benefit from a highly flexible curriculum that allows previously completed coursework — especially from pre-nursing or other health-related majors — to count toward degree completion. The program offers two concentration options, including General Health Science and Pre-Physician Assistant, enabling students to align their studies with specific career goals. With ample elective space, students may also pursue a minor or complementary coursework in another discipline. This structure supports timely graduation while preparing students for both workforce entry and advanced professional education.
