James R. Bueermann, BA Criminal Justice and Sociology (1980)
Chief James R. Bueermann earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology in 1980 from California State University, San Bernardino. In addition to earning a master's degree from the University of Redlands, Chief Bueermann is a graduate of the FBI's National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and the California Command College. Chief Bueermann has worked for the Redlands Police Department since 1978, where he is commonly known as Jim, serving in every unit within the department. He was appointed Police Chief and Director of Housing, Recreation and Senior Services in May 1998.
Jean Pfeiffer Leonard, BA History (1973)
Judge Jean Pfeiffer Leonard earned a bachelor's degree in history in 1973 from California State University, San Bernardino. Her Jurist Doctor degree is from the University of La Verne Law School. Jean has been a Judge of the Superior Court of California, County of Riverside, since 1997, as well as a Supervising Judge in the Family Law Department from 1996‐2001 and a Presiding Juvenile Court Judge in 2001. Jean is currently a Criminal Trial Calendar Judge of the Municipal Court in Riverside County.
Stephen T. Lilburn, BA Geography (1976)
Stephen Lilburn earned a bachelor's degree in geography in 1976 from California State University, San Bernardino. He also earned an associate's degree from Victor Valley College and a master's in Geography degree from the University of California, Riverside. Stephen is President at River Resorts LLC, a Land Development Corporation specializing in recreational properties in the Pacific Northwest. He is President of Lilburn Corporation, a consulting firm specializing in the areas of mine permitting and reclamation, land use planning, environmental compliance, and agency coordination. And he is the former President of Stephen T. Lilburn & Associates, consultants in earth sciences, urban and regional planning, and environmental analysis.
Robin Zimpfer McDonnell, BA Psychology 1981, MA Experimental Psychology (1984)
Robin Zimpfer McDonnell earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1981 and a master's degree in experimental psychology in 1984 from California State University, San Bernardino. At the time of her retirement on March 31, 2009, Robin was Assistant Riverside County Executive Officer/EDA and Executive Director of the Economic Development Agency (EDA). Robin's career in county government and with EDA spanned over 23 years. For her entire career Robin has worked tirelessly in regional economic development, community, housing and redevelopment programs. Her career at the county agency spanned more than 20 years.
Yolanda T. Moses, BA Sociology (1968)
Dr. Yolanda T. Moses earned a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1968 from California State University, San Bernardino. She earned an associate's degree from San Bernardino Valley College, and a master's and a doctoral degree from the University of California, Riverside. Yolanda is a nationally recognized expert on cultural diversity. She is currently a Professor of Anthropology, Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Excellence, and Executive Director for Conflict Resolution at the University of California, Riverside. She served as President of City University of New York/ The City College, Chair of the Board of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, President of the American Association for Higher Education, and President of the American Anthropological Association.
Kenneth F. Sawa, MSW Social Work (1992)
Kenneth Sawa earned a master's degree in social work in 1992 from California State University, San Bernardino. He is a proud graduate of the first class of part‐time students in the Department of Social Work. Ken earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton, a master's degree in education counseling and guidance from Loyola Marymount University, and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the California Commission on State Credentialing. In 2008, Ken was recognized by the National Association of Social Workers‐Region F as Social Worker of the Year.
Sally 'Soledad' Rivera, BA Anthropology (1973)
Sally Rivera earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology in 1973 from California State University, San Bernardino. She has a master's degree from the Claremont Graduate School. Sally is a retired higher education professional who has held positions in teaching, counseling, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and administration. Her last position was at Palo Verde College where she was the Vice President of Students Services. Prior to that Sally served as a field director in the Inland Area Urban League, an administrative assistant at the Claremont Colleges, Director of the Chicano Unity Council, an instructor in the Anthropology Department at CSUSB, Director in the Office of Admissions for Chicano Students and Associate Dean of Students at The Claremont Colleges, a newspaper columnist at the Stockton Record, an instructor at the University of the Pacific, and Director for the Community Involvement Program at the University of the Pacific.
