About Computer Systems at CSUSB
Solve Real Problems. Build Your Future.
If you’re looking to use technology to make a difference — in your career and your community — the B.A. in Computer Systems at Cal State San Bernardino is designed for you.
This flexible, career-focused program teaches the core principles of computer science and gives you room to focus on what matters most to you. You’ll take foundational courses, then dive deeper with one of three concentrations:
- System Administration: Learn how to manage networks, maintain infrastructure, and keep systems running smoothly.
- Game Development: Explore the creative side of computing as you build interactive games and simulations.
- General Interdisciplinary: Customize your experience with courses that match your personal or career interests.

Learn by Solving
At CSUSB, your courses go beyond theory — they’re built around solving real-world problems. You’ll develop creative solutions, think critically, and apply what you learn in ways that are both personally rewarding and socially impactful.
What Makes This Program Different?
Unlike the B.S. in Computer Science, the B.A. in Computer Systems emphasizes applied learning in your chosen field. You’ll take fewer units in advanced math and theoretical computer science, and more in hands-on, practical coursework that aligns with your goals.
This means you’ll be ready to:
- Enter the tech workforce with confidence
- Apply computing skills across industries
- Contribute to your community through innovative, meaningful work
