Ideal candidates for the BASW program will have:
- Completed the application packet including personal statement of commitment to the social work profession, two references, and transcripts; (Contact the School of Social Work for more information.)
- Completed all lower division General Education and additional lower division requirements
- An overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
- Completed additional lower division requirements with a grade of 'C' or better.
The BASW Program only accepts students each year in the fall due to course sequencing. Applications for admission are due by December 11th, 2020 for the Spring 2021 the academic year. Students wishing to transfer in from another school must apply to CSUSB, as well as the BASW Program.

Upcoming Information Sessions
Information sessions are intended to answer questions regarding the application process. Attendees will be informed about the BASW program, admission process, application instructions, and suggestions for submitting a strong application.
BASW Information Sessions for Fall 2021 admission cycle will be held virtually via Zoom. Those interested in applying for the BASW program are strongly encouraged to attend one of these information sessions, but attendance is not a requirement for admission.

Other Major Information
The School of Social Work offers courses leading to the Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. This degree prepares baccalaureate students for generalist social work practice in agency settings with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, the national accrediting body for social work programs. The program is intensive, exciting, and applies to a wide variety of client populations.
