
Through a partnership with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra (SBSO), this camp brings middle-school and high-school students to the CSU San Bernardino campus to participate in a week-long series of classes, workshops, rehearsals, coachings, sectionals, and masterclasses. Students will work with a faculty of professional musicians from both CSUSB and the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra.
Middle school students are able to select from one of two tracks: 1) orchestra, and 2) piano. The middle school orchestra track is open to woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.
High school students are able to select from one of four tracks: 1) string orchestra, 2) wind band, 3) piano, or 4) music technology. Please note that the high school string orchestra and wind band will combine into a joint ensemble for certain performances. Students may only select one track.
Middle School Combined Orchestra & Band
Sunday, June 14 - Saturday, June 20, 2026 - $200

This camp is open to string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students who are in 5th-8th grade as of Sunday, June 14, 2026, or those who have just finished middle school. Students must have at least two years of playing experience. This track is designed for intermediate to early advanced students who are seeking artistic growth, musical depth, and meaningful engagement with orchestra repertoire. This camp will run a half day from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026 through Saturday, June 20, 2026. Track will culminate in performances. A placement audition video is required. This camp is open to keyboard students who are in 7th-12th grade as of Sunday, June 14, 2026, or those who have just finished high school. Students must have reached at least MTAC Level 6 or ABRSM Grade 4. This track is designed for intermediate to advanced students who are seeking artistic growth, musical depth, and meaningful engagement with their repertoire. Students who are interested in: 1) exploring solo and piano ensemble (chamber) repertoire and performance, 2) enhancing collaborative skill sets, 3) expanding interpretive and stylistic awareness, and/or 4) preparing for auditions, competitions, and future music study, will find a welcoming and enriching environment. No prior chamber music experience is required—only curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to engage. Track will culminate in performances. A placement audition video is required. High School Music Technology

The High School Music Technology track is open to students who are in 9th–12th grade as of Sunday, June 14, 2026, or those who have just finished high school. This track is designed for students who are interested in learning the fundamentals of audio recording, production, and live event documentation in a hands-on, collaborative setting. Participants will develop practical skills in microphone techniques, signal flow, session setup, recording software, editing, and basic mixing while working alongside the camp’s performing ensembles. Students will gain experience recording chamber groups, large ensembles, and performances throughout the week, creating a strong introduction to music technology while building critical listening, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills. No prior recording experience is required—only curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to engage. Track will culminate in recording of various performances. A placement portfolio submission is required. Application deadline is Tuesday, June 1, 11:59 p.m.
