Internships - PA

Welcome

Internships help students without public sector experience not only gain that experience but also take the first step towards getting a public sector job. Besides your own learning, internships allow an employer to get to know you and gives you an advantage in applying for future jobs. Internships are optional for undergraduates and required for MPA students who do not already have public sector experience.

If you have not had public sector employment experience, an internship will be required for the MPA program. The internship class is a CR/NC course that does NOT count as an MPA elective.  Please contact Jessica Chavez in the Student Success Center, JB 134, for more information.

An internship can be a valuable, career developing experience. To begin review the JHBC Internship page. To get credit for an internship you must register for PA 5753 (undergrad) or ADMN 6750 (graduate). Our Internship Coordinator will help you with all the administrative issues. The internship itself must be officially approved by the PA Department Chair.
