Concentration in Human Resources

The CSUSB MPA concentration in Human Resources Management prepares students for advanced HR roles within the public and nonprofit sectors. This concentration offers graduates advanced knowledge and practical skills in areas such as recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, labor relations, diversity and inclusion, compensation, and strategic human resource planning, applied within the context of public service organizations.

Partnering with the Jack H. Brown graduate program in Human Resources Management, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal, ethical, and organizational frameworks that shape public sector human resources, and develop the analytical and interpersonal skills necessary to address workforce challenges in diverse and dynamic environments. Graduates of the Human Resources Management concentration are prepared to assume positions such as human resources manager, labor relations specialist, personnel analyst, and other leadership roles in local, state, and federal agencies, as well as nonprofit organizations.
