Bachelor of Arts - Public Service
  • PLO-1: Students will demonstrate knowledge of the historical roots and theories of public
  • service in the US with an emphasis on the State of CA
  • PLO-2: Students will demonstrate knowledge in the legal and regulatory foundations of government and nonprofits in the US with an emphasis on the state of CA.
  • PLO-3: Students will demonstrate knowledge in research strategies, data collection, and analysis for public service practice.
  • PLO-4: Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of various public service workplace practice areas: including human resource management; budgeting and finance; grant writing and fundraising; personnel management; urban systems planning and public infrastructure management.

Master of Science in Financial Analytics (MSFA)
  • Specific Finance Knowledge and Skills: Each student should obtain required knowledge and skills in the area of Financial market and environment, Financial statement analysis, corporate finance, portfolio management, global equity investment, fixed income, and derivative & alternative investment.
  • Communication: Each student can effectively communicate financial analysis, either written or oral.
  • Problem Solving using IT: Each student can apply statistical methods to analyze financial data and develop quantitative techniques to assist financial decision-making.
  • Ethical Reasoning: Each student can identify and evaluate ethical issues and articulate a realistic recommendation to inform sustainable decision-making.
Master of Science in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (MSEI)
  • Communicate persuasively and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a wide variety of formats and contexts.
  • Frame problems, think creatively, and exhibit the presence necessary to form actionable solutions.
  • Define, discuss, and apply the key principles of entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial process and the entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Identify and differentiate the key startup and business models available to the entrepreneur, and assess the appropriate context for their use in the startup environment.
  • Identify the inherent risk involved in the startup venture and deploy proven startup models and guerrilla approaches that can mitigate such risk.
  • Identify the key tangible and intangible resources available to the entrepreneur, construct resource plans and startup valuation, forecast funding and operating requirements, and design and formulate a founding team.
  • Effectively explore the feasibility of potential business opportunities using a variety of exploratory and hypothesis testing methods (e.g. lean startup, business road test). This will entail an innate understanding of the role of the customer, product development and testing, and the ability to construct, perform and assess input from customer interviews.

  • Understand advanced knowledge of industrial and engineering management. Use operation management, product planning and commercialization, and project management theories into real world scenarios.
  • Analyze cost structures, budget, and investment options in industrial and engineering context, and make informed business decisions
  • Develop organizational and team leading strategies and skills, ensuring effective conveyance of complex engineering concepts and project requirements for the organizational and environmental context.
  • Develop problem-solving and decision-making skills using quantitative methods and information technology, including recognizing problems, identifying stakeholder roles, diagnosing causes, generating, and evaluating alternative solutions, and designing an implementation plan to achieve the desired goals.
  • Comprehend environmental and organizational sustainability, social inclusion, and ethical governance (ESG) issues. Understand ethical implications of decision and promote responsible engineering and management practices.
