MLK Jr. Day of Service
OCE celebrated the annual MLK National Day of Service with a Habitat for Humanity A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) event. The ABWK program is Habitat’s home repair program for homeowners struggling to maintain their home due to personal or financial limitations. Eight volunteers from CSUSB painted a mobile home for a Highland resident in need. 90% of the volunteers indicated that based on their MLK Day experience, they will attend another campus event. 100% of the volunteers indicated they have a better understanding of how organizations are working to improve societal issues. Habitat for Humanity staff stated that they loved working with the Coyotes and they look forward to future service projects with CSUSB.
