Safety Guidance for Student Volunteers

We are excited to share the latest in-person volunteer opportunities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

If you plan to volunteer in-person, please ensure your safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Our office has PPE available upon request for students participating in service activities. The PPE available includes face masks, vinyl gloves, face shields, hand sanitizer, and anti-bacterial wipes. To submit a request, email us at

Do not put yourself at risk. If you are feeling sick or unwell, do not volunteer in-person. By protecting yourself, you are supporting your community by reducing the spread of COVID-19.

Welcome new students to the 2021/22 academic year!

Engaging CSUSB students in community engagement activities is at the core of OCE's vision; to inspire CSUSB students to be active citizens and make life-long commitments to service.

At OCE, we are committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in volunteering, service learning and community based research opportunities. Through these opportunities and experiences we believe this will empower and enable CSUSB students to engage with their communities - in and outside of class and ultimately contributes to student success.

There are many opportunities to engage with the local community through both academic and non-academic experience.

  • Community Based Research
  • Panetta Congressional Internship Program
  • Service Learning
  • Study Away Programs
