English Language Program Student

***A maximum of 24 units taken through Open University may be applied toward an undergraduate degree; a maximum of 9 Open University units may be applied toward a graduate program (subject to approval by the appropriate department).ELP Students are those who hold an F-1 Visa and are enrolled in the ELP program at CSUSB

  1. Meet with the Academic Coordinator for advising prior to registration.
  2. Choose your course(s) from the CSUSB course schedule.
  3. Obtain the Open University registration form:
    • Download the Open University Registration form.
    • Or, pick up an Open University registration form in person at the College of Extended and Global Education, Center for Global Innovation, Room 301B.
  4. Attend the first class meeting to obtain the instructor's signature for each class in which you wish to enroll.
  5. Department chair signature is only required if: 1) the class is full, 2) the student does not meet the prerequisite requirements or 3) the student is attempting to add during the third week of the term. After the 3rd week, a petition to add after census form is required. All graduate-level courses require the Graduate Dean’s signature.
  6. The signed registration form must be verified by ELP staff prior to registration.
  7. Return your signed registration form to the College of Extended and Global Education to complete registration.

  8. Once your registration is processed, an email confirmation will be sent within 24 hours.
  9. To obtain blackboard access prior registration, contact student services at (909) 537- 5975 or email us at openu@csusb.edu and request access to the blackboard component of the course.
