New Youth Protection Program Training by Praesidium

In our Fall 2021 newsletter, we introduced the campus to Praesidium, Inc, a partnership established to strengthen our campus-wide child abuse prevention program. Praesidium offers online training to campus stakeholders and in addition to their existing curriculum, plans on releasing upcoming trainings on topics of Abuse Risk Management, Athlete Protection, and Maintaining Professional Boundaries in Healthcare. Much of their existing training is currently accessible via CSUSB’s learning management systems, CSULearn (employees) and CSU Learning Bridge (students). Additionally, Praesidium training topics that are not currently available in CSULearn can be accessed by logging directly in to Praesidium’s online learning platform.

All campus departments that offer youth programs are required to register their program or activity with the Office of Risk Management, ensure that their employees and/or volunteers receive appropriate training annually, and maintain all records, including participant waiver forms for a minimum of three years. The retention of records for minors must be retained for at least three years after the activity ends or until the minor reaches the age of 20, whichever date is later. For questions related to Praesidium-related training or CSUSB’s Minors on Campus program, please contact Marisol Johnson, at johnson@csusb.edu.
